About Me

- Name: Emma Cunningham
- Location: Providence, Rhode Island, United States
I'm about to move to Providence, RI where I'll be studying under the guidance of Polly Jacobson at Brown University. I'm interested in semantics, philosophy of language, the many interfaces in linguistics, theories of discourse, polarity, computation and logic, programming languages, and pine nuts. I think I'm a fun person to talk to usually, and I'm learning how to really love language. I consider a few people my heroes: Gottlob Frege for being passionate and creative and innovative; Barry Schein and Elena Guerzoni for being my first introductions to the wonderful world of semantics and really being fantastic people who inspire me to keep learning; Chris Barker and Polly Jacobson for their ideas and spirit; Eben Moglen for being a revolutionary and a damn powerful speaker.

Something in English; people don't remember my domain name easily. That said, I am tempted to suggest something like satzsemantik.com or textsemantik.org to you. (As to a blog name as distinct from a domain name; your call :-)

Ah, but a long and unwieldy domain name would motivate people to just subscribe to my RSS feed...thereby upping the visitor count :-) I don't know why, but I get the feeling that satzsemantik.org or textsemantik.org would make people think that it were some sort of comp. ling.-related site.
I like the suggestions, though, and I'll probably go with some deviation of what you've offered :-) danke dir! and hey, aren't you up sort of early for a Sunday morning?
